The category of service requested — mowing, landscaping, holiday lighting, or general. Used to route leads to the right estimate workflow and pricing structure.
Job type determines which pricing tables and estimate templates apply. A mowing job uses per-square-foot pricing; a holiday lighting job uses material + labor pricing; a landscaping job may use a combination. Correctly categorizing jobs at intake saves time during estimating.
"When the customer selected "Christmas Lights" on the intake form, their lead was automatically categorized as a holiday lighting job type."
