SMS Consent (TCPA)

The explicit permission a customer gives a contractor to send them text messages about their service. Required under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) for marketing and service texts.

In Depth

TCPA compliance requires documented, affirmative consent before sending SMS messages to customers. Contractors should capture consent through a clearly labeled checkbox at the point of first contact (intake form, booking page). Consent records should include the timestamp and consent text shown.

Example Usage

"The contractor's intake form included a labeled checkbox: "I agree to receive text messages about my estimate from Clean Cut Clippings." The customer checked the box, creating a documented consent record."
